XXX: Peculiar Stag Films, 1935-79

Dec 1, 2012

Artist:
Erotic short films from the heart of the 20th Century

Original Show Description:

An evening of entertaining short films selected specifically to complement the gallery's current art exhibit, The Nude 2012. FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, Studio Quercus is opening its vault of historic films, unleashing a few titillating gems from its private collection in an effort to make the public swoon, guffaw, and possibly squirm. Everyone over the age of eighteen who can afford the ten-buck admission price is welcome.

The program will feature films from five consecutive (but noticeably different) decades. The films share a common intention - a striving towards eroticism, or at very least titillation. All - yes, all - will be revealed on screen, but here's a sneak peek of what's on offer: sensuous black and white films from the '30s and '40s; orgasma-color from the swinging '70s; tame but interesting Swedish S&M; sex-otic Lesbians from the tropics; highly instructive footage of an unusual mechanical auto-erotic apparatus from the 1950s; and many other scenes of keen historic interest. Sherlock Holmes, pirates, and a doctor and his patient make memorable cameos.
